We might as well give him a break. I can tell that he is going through a crisis in establishing his own identity. He thinks in Chinese, he talks in Chinese, and yet he despises his Chinese heritage. From what is known we may safely deduce that this is a person who has been through a certain trauma regarding his identity, and the magnitude of which I would not venture to guess. I am not all that opposed to letting him rediscover himself through debating (reasonably or not) the issue, as he may finally find a way out and eventually restore his mental health.
