Looking for a good Fortran compiler on Mac OS X? Good news! IBM has released beta of XL C V6.0 and XL C++ V6.0 for Mac OS X - Betas for Mac OS X, the 55MB packages includes Fortran compiler as well, and are optimized for the new G5 (PPC 970) CPU.

Here's what IBM describe the package:

Preview Beta compilers for Mac OS X. IBM is preparing its industry-leading C, C++ and Fortran compilers to exploit the Apple PowerMac G5.

第一件事情是 G4 也可以安心服用
第二件事情是 28日我搞了一整天 porting program from g77 to xlf, 但是因為不知道哪些 option 的效能相互關係，還沒找到 "significantly" speed-up 的 combination.

明天早上可能要到學校書店試試看我 compiled 的 program with G5 在他們展示G5機上的表現如何。

我昨天就一直在想，大師的G5是從哪裡來的。原來答案如此簡單……早告訴我嘛，讓我也順道去玩耍玩耍。

不過禮拜一去想玩的時候店員正忙著連線對打呢
所以我所有的測試/編譯都是在 penn state 一個老師的電腦中跑的.....

請問在OS v.10.3若是設定ibm fortran的路徑及環境變數
是用cvs 還是直接加etc/bashrc 的PATH
小弟是新手, 問蠢問題請多包涵
