蘋果正式開始銷售中文版 Mac OS X 至今也有數週的時間了，不知道大家有沒有什麼回應想告訴蘋果的呢？

我們最近因為巧合，連絡上美國蘋果電腦負責 Mac OS X 國際系統的研發部門，他們表示很想要聽聽大家的反應，由於機會難得，冰果室特別決定在此開放討論區給大家提供建議。請在 7/15 號前在此張貼您對於 Mac OS X 中文版的建議／回應／鼓勵，我們會將各位的回應翻譯後回送給他們做參考。請記得要順便留下您的 email 地址，以便有需要的話可以與您做進一步的聯繫。

Current version of Terminal is NOT compatible with Chinese. We need such a program to access many Chinese-based BBS here in Taiwan.

Also we need Chinese menu for Internet Explorer. Many local Web sites use Chinese for web page titles. We definitely need a version of IE with Chinese capability.

The input system require serious re-write!

Using the up/down arrows to show the other choices of matching characters is inconvient. The fact that editing of text (arrows, page up, page down, home, end etc keys)is disabled until enter, is a foundamental design fault.

The Canjie is several version behind the most current version (6?)which used in Windows. The adding of 'X' prior repeated key mapping is so user un-friendly.

The "learning" feature should be showing the key compilation of any input method installed in the machine, such as showing pingyu while input using canjie. And the result should be shown only after the character is selected. Definately NOT in the selection menu before choosing a character which reduce the available choice per page. It makes you disable it.

The startup input method and language should be able to be choosen independ of the location or system language. And the keyboard should not sync with the font or what ever displaying on the screen. The input language should be changed by user request only.

The phrase library should keep track of what the user frequently use in his/her writing. The phrase library should automatically suggest the most likely characters / phrases based on the user history and the built-in library.

A better document and designed input method converter that allowing user to map the used keys on some input method to the english characters which printed on the keyboard. i.e. in 4-corner inputing method, the whole main keyboard of English keys is not used. The input method converter should allow the user to create a direct typing English mapping which typing 'A' on the keyboard produce character 'A' without changing input method or any additional keys required. And further distinct the number keys on top of main keyboard and the key number pad. Which they can be treated as either identical key or separated keys, i.e. the '1' on the top of main key board can be either as same as the '1' on the number pad or different keys.

Just take a look of how Traditional Chinese version of Windows doing it. You will understand that the Apple solution is 10 years behind.

Please show us the Mac is more user friendly, advance, and cofigurable than Windows counterpart!

1.I need CLK just like Mac OS 9. I'd like to use the international version of Mac OS X with Chinese Input Method.

2.Please Give us the Hanin Input Method.It's the best Input Method on Mac for 注音 input. Yours are at least 10 years behind Hanin Input Method. It don't provide different kind of keyboard arragement from 10 years ago till now. And can't be used in an fast way. Or please give us a input method better than hanin input method.

I hope all the software at lease compatiable with 2-bits language. I don't really care if there is a localization copy, but I like it has no problem in different localization copy so I don't need worry I cannot read Chinese in AOL IM if AOL follow Apple way coding.

I think it would be nice if Apple can tell how to localization so we don't need wait for long time if Apple is so busy. It's difficult for both Apple and customers, but at lease, I would like know so I can do if I have to. This is a wish. I hope it would be true.

About Chinese input methods, I never like it before I had LaLaSan. I don't need using ,./(whatever it call) if I live two hundred years ago because there is no such things in Chinese. However, I didn't live in past. I am looking for something like English input method at least which would be LaLaSan currently.

It is very easy to check out input codes from one to the other. For example, I want input 好 (good), and I forgot howto in Dayi input method. I have shortcut to switch to others. Let's say PinYin input method. I keyin the pronounce "hao3". I use shortcut to switch back to Dayi input method. I decode this character so I got "lbg" if I want to use Dayi input method.

It is fast to input ,.;. I need to hold option and type , and . and ;. Wow, I got all. I don't want to ask menu out and click it or using other complicated ways to do simple things. It is Apple goal, isn't it?

It also give a lot input methods like Array, which is the first one I really use. Because Apple has never provide it when I need, I swich to Dayi. I hope there is more and more choices for customers.

Now I don't really want to use OS X without LaLaSan input methods. I believe a lot of people didn't want to use OS X without Hanin input methods. I hope this is not a problem at all.

Are there any documents of "Input Method (IM) plug-in converter"? I wanna customize an IM of my own.

I forgot dictionary is also a very important tool for writing. We need one for Chinese to Chinese and one for Chinese to English as well.

I check OS I own again. It is huge difference between OS X server 1.2 and OS X 10.0. I have to say Apple did great job in a very short time, but please do make each localization copy equally like. I like Japanese Mac OS X, but I don't read Japanese. I hope this will come shortly.

1. "HanIn" Input Method
2. Chinese Language Kit (CLK)

2.輸入法很難用!漢英也一樣.沒有其他中文字可用.
3.執行速度很慢.除了文字介面外.
4.軟體支援還是不夠快.
5.OS 9.X 跟 OS X兩者定位如何? OS X SERVER呢?

Will Apple Computer consider to add Hong Kong Chinese True type Fonts Supporting on Mac X ?

1. Trash the uselss TCIM. NOBODY is going to use that if we had a choice. Get LaLaSan!
2. Improve text encoding conversion between Cocoa, Carbon, and Classic.
3. Why the hell there's no way to open/save BIG5 text in TextEdit???
4. (From #1) If you don't want to make our lives easier, publish the IME API in a human understandable form so someone can actually use it to write a usable IME.

That's it for now. I am still on vacation.

Everytime when the system startup , the input method setting will reset to defauli, even I had make some adjust....

and Could the development team use the idea of clk ? it is quiet important in Hong Kong, and use can also easily follow the international updater....since Mac OS X always have updater now....

and we also like to have a better display font , thanks !

I found a major problem here: I can't open any files using Chinese name, it only brings you to the app. instead but not open!
And me too need OSX International version with CLK, but not CHinese version, since its too unstable and slow to use, it seems many bugs there.
Last, the bad SC display fonts! TC is better more!

on theother hand is why OSX can't use MO drive?
I think MO drive is the design house standard storge device and a lots of mac user is use for design field.
