Mouse driver problem

At least now I know it will EVENTUALLY come out...but then does that mean I have no choice but to keep waiting?

The PC I am using doesn't allow me to type Chinese, hope u guys don't mind.
I bought a Microsoft wheel mouse optical for my iBook, it works fine in OS 9 with the provided driver; however Microsoft has not yet made its OS X driver available, so the mouse is simply slow and stupid in OS X.
What I want to know is, is there any alternative software by 3rd parties to solve this problem?
