Project Builder 無法在 Wallstreet PB G3 上跑

安裝了 Dec 2001 Developer Tools 之後, 發現
Project Builder 無法執行. 其他的開發程式都
可以, 怪怪.

同樣一套軟體, 安裝在乳白 G3 上就很好.

有誰碰過這個問題嗎?

點二下 Project Builder 的圖像, 隱約看到 dock
也有動靜 (啟動中?) 然後就消失不見, 根本沒有
開始執行就不見了.

找到 Console 給的訊息了:

dyld: /Developer/Applications/Project Builder.app/Contents/MacOS/Project Builder can't open library: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/JavaKit.framework/Versions/A/JavaKit (No such file or directory, errno = 2)

Any idea?

Try download the new "December 2001 Mac OS X Developer Tools Update" from ADC.

I had the same problem before. I then attempted to remove PB manually and do a clean install. However, I must have deleted something important so I needed to install the OS again. After re-installation, PB works fine....

I had the same problem before. It happened on my B&W G3 when I upgraded OS all the way up to 10.1.2 without installing Dev Tools first. So I have to backup personal files and reinstall OS and Dev Tools, then upgrade the system.

With the help of users in comp.sys.mac.programmer.tools, the problem is solved.

A great MANY people had this problem. It seems that the installer of Dec2001DevTool fails to recognize which packages are already installed, and which are not. This would happen if you installed some old DevTool package in the past, then decided to install Dec2001DevTool package.

Removing all the Dev related files and receipts, then installing Dec2001DevTools again solved the problem.

one question:
how do i remove the files for reinstall develop tool without deleting other core files, which might causes the miserable result? [img]images/smiles/icon_confused.gif[/img]

This is what I did:

1. Find the .bom files for the developer tools by
find / -name '*.bom' -print 2>/dev/null

2. Use lsbom to extract the list of all relevant files of the package. I forgot the details and do not have access to a Mac now. Please "man lsbom".

3. Remove all files and/or directories mentioned in the list. I did it by some combination of awk and shell commands.

Firstly I removed all the files in the list of files extracted from the .bom files. I reinstalled the new Developer Tools again, but PB still did not wrong. Then I removed the directories too. I must have removed some important files in the same directories this time, so the whole system hung and I had to reinstall OS X again. [img]images/smiles/icon_sad.gif[/img]
