yet another VCD on OSX question!!!

hi all
I am very curious about something concerning VCDs on OSX,
From what I've been told that VCDs don't work on OSX because the kernel could not read the file system of VCDs.
Then how come that the Windows in VPC on top of the same kernel of OSX could read VCD fine ?
Is it because VPC have direct access to the hardware ?
If so, why can't classic envirment have the same access to the hardware like the VPC does ?
It's really bugging me, that even windows on a fake pc can read VCDs, but OSX on a real Mac won't !!
could someone please explain this for me,
I really want to know what's going on .

我歸納出來的結論是OSX 的CD相關驅動程式不支援VCD格式. 我曾在APPLE的knowledge base找相關的文章,在os9是有幾篇,OSX則幾乎是零.
其實一樣的情況也存在 x86 PC上.我的PC跑98,XP時讀VCD沒問題,但是切換到linux後VCD的電影檔案部分就讀不到(目錄仍是可以顯示), 我曾試過在WIN下把VCD的電影檔案拷貝到硬碟裡,然後切換到linux再用kmedia player看, 倒是沒問題.
有一點很有趣的就是, VCD讀取錯誤訊息在x86 linux下和ppc OSX之下完全一樣. 我猜是OSX的CD驅動程式(in Darwin)和linux是來自同一個作者

事實上這跟應用程式有關，FP 昨天介紹的 MacVCD X 就是最好的證據。
