X broke SoundManager & died away

這不是向大家緊急求援助。
只是把我的經驗留存紀錄一下，
萬一哪位遇到類似經驗，可能可以提供出來，共同求解。

iMac 333, Ram 32+256, OS 9.1.1,
加裝了10.1.？後，透過軟體更新，升到10.1.5，
然後發現平時工作時透過iTunes驅動的SoundSticks聲音破破的，
知道硬體無誤，因為重新開機後，又會回復正常。

平日工作，都是簡單的AppleWorks 6.1.4, GraphicConverter 4.3, IE 5.1.5, OE 5.02, iTunes 2.03

每晚不關機，裝上X以來，就會在早上聽iTunes（事實上是整台機器包括系統聲音，因為都由SoundSticks代言的關係，）聲音都挺抱歉，斷續聲隨，殘破難聽。

Restart之後，這一天大致沒問題，但是睡午覺起來以後，（Monitor也長睡一覺後，）就得Restart一次，聽音樂才不算折磨。

我的猜測是大約是SoundManager之類的部份，可能跟EnergySaver有小衝突待解決。

這樣將近一週以後，某天在開機過程中時，X大概是不爽我對它的不信任？X從此無法直接開機進入，開機過程中，它直接就回到OS 9.1.1去，當初裝載OS X的1 Giga就這樣一直佔著空間，因為當初裝X時候，信心不足，所以儲存檔案時，都仔細存在9的桌面，怕的是萬一X發生狀況，呼天搶地，檔案被鎖住。現在X拒絕合作，我看看檔案卻都還在，都很合作，心中居 然有許多感謝，不知向誰訴說…
我跟不會開機進入的X相看兩討厭，就開心地請它回垃圾桶，看著X讓位後憑空多出來1 Giga的空間，真是清爽。

現在回頭用起漢音輸入，讓我每天寫稿至少不會有明顯立即的危險，也就得過且過。

每當看著有新軟體只支援美洲豹子時候，心中有些高興，看著它似乎越來越受歡迎，自己其實也光榮，但看到中文輸入的障礙，心中也有些話，

如果以下發言有不當處，白老闆與版主敬請大刀一砍，直接刪除，我不會抱怨的。

因為以上的資料，已經回報給AppleCare系統，
只是在台灣打免費的國際電話到新加坡，心中還是無法釋懷於科技與商業體系運作之下，竟然可以如此不環保…心中的感覺，其實是很奇怪的。

感謝新加坡的AppleCare，心底卻希望他們是在台北，我心會釋懷許多，我解決自己的問題，如果不要讓別人負擔國際電話費用，那就更好了…

此時把心中話說出來，真是愉快，一方面感謝白老闆創造的園地，加上眾多前輩的努力與投入，讓中文世界中用mac的人有這個可愛的桃花源，

另一方面
to the Apple guys:
Please, I really think the Chinese are nice people, we don't quite play as smartly as the Americans in complaining. But I think the support to hassle-free Macintosh Chinese input solutions now still remains a big X to us.

We are so ready to spend our money wisely on Apple,
but it is really hard to convince myself to put US$99 a year (OK, I've got 60 days to consider your suggestion [with threat of taking that beautiful tail of mac.com away] with half price: buying myself a whole much bigger cyberspace with my nametag that I actually do not NEED, and this place with my nametag does not intend to support my mother tongue!)

And I really cannot believe the ignorance of Apple Taiwan, to the Chinese input beahavior, was not considered & solved among your managerial typhoons occured in Taiwan.

Now with people in Taiwan taking computers as a consumer product, rather than luxury itmes, I think Taiwan should be a great place for Apple to prove your Real Power. How I wish you can double, or truiple up your market share in Taiwan!

I consider myself a die-hard fan of Apple, being a pure consumer, I have been pursuading people to Switch to Apple since when I started using my Macintosh Plus.

If I don't love you so much, I wouldn't need to be so hard on you now.
If I don't doubt you might be my hope, I wouldn't bother to keep low-profile.

I am not leaving still,
and very possibly, I might never leave,
but I think the Chinese deserve a little more cultural respect & interface resepct.

C'mon, you're not telling me:
Le'thm use another method to input, then,
before ours are brewd...

But before then, let's still charge them same with the rest of the world, 129 for Jaguar, too...

我目前有類似狀況亦未找方法解決，但不同的是聲音一點都不破，它卻是變成啞巴了，一點聲音都沒有！但它(SoundSticks)能發出聲音時，雖稱不上天籟之音但也一點都不抱歉，絕對上的了檯面，身價直 逼高出十倍之譜音響設備(當然不包括Aopple電腦主機部分啦！ [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] )！當然，重新開機才恢復正常也真給它覺得有點曠日廢時！後來不經意發現，只要將SoundSticks之USB接頭拔除後再次接上便回魂了，也省了不少時間。不過，老是將USB接頭拔上拔下的也不是辦法，那也 是權宜之計，等有時間再想辦法根除問題吧......

原來如此！

小時候用PC養成的排除故障的慣性，
果然不如插拔解決問題來得高級又環保！

沒錯，當SoundSticks正常工作時，總覺得物超所值甚多！
