i heard fujifilm S1-X have Firewire (IEEE1394)
some photo MG have report .

S1-X falls into intermediate (may be professional in certain extent~~)
Forget anything about FW at the moment for low-cost DCs.

So, can anybody recommend a DV for amateur like myself? BTW, is iBook adequate for video editing?

Before talking about any model, I suggest you to go to http://guide.apple.com/uscategories/firewire.lasso
to see the compatibility list first. Though in general cases, most DVs will work with iMovies/FW Macs, there are some exceptions.
