Accusys ACUTA 4 Question.

Regarding to the Raid box, it seems slower than a single drive or software raid.
My questions are:

If I can use FireWire 400 or 800 drive + OS X Raid function, what is the advantage of using Accusys ACUTA 4 Raid?

Why the hardware raid is slower than software raid (os X built in)
According to my testing, I've tried in multiple G4 and G5 using 4 Externla FireWire 800 drives with OS x built Raid function. The result is a lof of faster than the test result of Accusys ACUTA 4.

The cost of the Accusys ACUTA is a lot of expensive than External FireWire 800 drive. Is it worthy to buy ACUTA? What is the advantage of it?

I am building up a Video Lab and I need to have a better Raid solution.
Please Help...

As to the Accuta 4, What is the purpose of using such a expensive system while the regular firewire 400 or firewire 800 drives can do the same work? Can anyone explain to me? I meant the Dollar per MB/sec is so high? How can you justify that? Can anyone help me answer this question? Thanks.

Personally, I'd love to see more cache on Accuta 4. 8MB or larger would be great for RAID performance. (Current version has 2MB cache)
