About Microsoft Office 2001 for mac problem

I'm using Office 2001 Word in OS 9.2.1.
When I tape chinese in Word document,the cursor have some problem.
e.g If I want highlight one chinese word,it can't, the cursor will highlight two of word.But work in english is fine. Anybody can help me!!!!!!!!!!!
