Hello everybody!
I am using iBookSE 466+320Mb RAM but found it runs slow with MacOSX, is it possible to replace original Toshiba HD inside with a 5400rpm IBM HD?
HD is the only thing which can be upgraded at this moment since OSX don't support FireWire disk!
Can people share with me your experience? Thanks a lot!
Can iBook SE 466 use faster harddisk?

Your problem is not slow hard drive, but the computer needs more memory. I suggest you go get a 256MB RAM Module for your iBook.
Also, Mac OS X Does support Firewire, you can even put the system on Firewire disk and boot from it.

Thank you very much for your help.
How much RAM will you suggest for a OS X smooth run? I now have 320Mb inside and my iBook reached the limit.
Another very important thing, can you tell me how to install OS X on FireWire disk and boot from it? cause manual states installation won't support USB + FireWire.
Many Thanks!

In this case, maybe you should wait for the next release of Mac OS X. The UI is indeed slow in current version.
As for installing Mac OS X on firewire disk, just plug it in, boot the Mac OS X install CD, you will see the firewire drive showing up in the installer's window. Make sure you have the latest firmware installed in your iBook. Go to Apple.com/support area to download the firmware update if you have never done that.
