Hello, any ACROBAT user here?? I got a few questions about the software.
1: Is that only Acrobat can EDIT PDF file?
2: Can Acrobat export PDF to MOST of the other major softwares, and import images and texts from (many) different softwares together on a "PIECE" of PDF (not file, a file can have many pages) without having the layout changed?
3: My primary goal is to do homework only available in PDF DIRECTLY (I have to print it out, do it, scan the completed job then send it back through email, u see, how trouble!!) I don't have printer and scanner (My friend help me), would Acrobat 5.0 be a better choice?
4: I would like to store most of my paper works, notes, graphics, etc digitally, would PDF be a good choice-for it's cross-software-platform ability?

我在PC上有跑Acrobat，大概可答覆部份問題。
1. 如你所接收的Acrobat要有password才可更改，則連Acrobat也無能為力。
2. 你的Documents要給人作參考用途嗎? Acrobat可export postscript檔，但export後已不可edit了。
3.假設接收者只是要read，不用更改內文，那send as PDF也無大問題
4.愚見:作為功課，我看不如買個MS Office /AppleWorks還好。

1. PDF Files經過輸出後，底稿的部份已不可更改，但是可以用類似layer 的方式，加註或是加上其他符號。不知道你所說得edit PDF files是要做到怎麼樣的方式？

I don't have to edit the original layout. let's say the PDF have certain underline areas which expecting anwsers? and I copy and paste some text from adobe about Acrobat 5.0, I understand the words, but I don't have any on-hand experience so I'm not sure is that work for me. THANKS again!!!!!!!!!!

If you really need to use PDF to exchange & edit, the assumption is you & your counterpart(S) must have both Acrobat3/4/5.
In my opinion Acrobat is a tool to export final output that someone who need not to obtain the original software, like PageMaker, QXK etc. Instead end-users just download the Reader version for reading. If you need further format change & file import (e.g. pictures),

My feeling is that the engine itself is a bit faster. V.3 is defintely a no-go (well, difficult to get nowadays...) V.4 & 5 are quite similar,

Sorry, may be I didn't state my question clear enough.
1: my homework is only available in PDF
2: I have to FILL my homework on the question sheets (it's like a layer over the original, not answering on another sheet)
3: no 2 question sheets are the same
4: I don't have printer and scanner
5: my school didn't state that they don't accept PDF. (so it's out of question)
6: I will do the editing with any possible software, not just Acrobat!
okay, now I list a new set of questions, all of them are YES/NO question, becasue I really want to solve my problem.
1: I think if I neither buy the scanner-printer set or Acrobat. I can do nothing except reproducing every single question sheet before I really doing my homework. Is that CORRECT?
2: According to adobe's site, I should be able to edit the original text when PDF is changed to Rich Text Format. Is that CORRECT?
3: Or at least, I should be able to export the hole PDF page to image, like JEPG,etc, then DRAW on it. Is that CORRECT?
4: after I have finished my homework, I should be able to convert my final work back to PDF. Is that CORRECT?

really thanks everyone has posted advice here
I've just tried MAC Arcobat at my friend's home
the export function is great
and actually I can do my job just with the basic acrobat tools on panel like pencil, type, etc
I'll buy arcobat for sure, that save my life!!!!!!!
by the way, since English version got the asian languages support, what's the difference between Chinese and English version except the interface language, I'm using English OS, thanks!!!!!!!!!!
