I have a Ricoh 7120A CD-RW installed in a firewire case. This CD-RW is not officialy supported by disk burner for OS9 nor OS X, but it works fine with toast for OS9 and OSX.
Is there any unofficial way to make the disk burner for OSX support this CD-RW?
I have such thought because OSX is an Unix, and part of it is open souce, some experts may have done such a "patch" or "hack" before the official support of Apple released.
thanks

Make your iTune and Authoring Support File up to date and your machine might reconize your burner.

My authoring support is the most updated one, but it still don't work.
Will it be a problem of my firewire case instead of the CDRW driver? Since I saw an article about how to make a firewire Ricoh 7120A work with diskburner. The author just modified the Ricoh autoring support file form 8400A (?) to 7120A.
I've tried. The disk buriner dose not work still, however the system profile said the CDRW is autoring support.
I don't know what chips my firewire case is using, but it is support by "shining storage driver".
Do you have any idea about this?

Eventually, my Ricoh 7120A driver is recognized by disk burner in OSX 10.1.2.
I just found that the disk does not re-appear after burning if it is named in Chinese, however the disk is mounted. (this can be checked using terminal)
Is it normal? In addition, iTurn still does not work with this driver.
BTW, thank for all your help.
