Make sure you have the latest firmware (v1.2)... that should do the trick.

and try text2ipod, podtext 2.0x by textedit

You can use the address book in Mac OS X 10.2
1.Make a new card
2.Insert a song name in the first name section, an artist in the last name section and Chinese lyric in the note section
3. Export the card in vCard format (Drag the card to the destkop)
4. Mount iPod as a Firewire harddisk
5. Drag the vCard in the contact folder
