Can't use Chinese FTP with IE 5.2 on OS 10.1

I used IE 5.2 on OS 10.1 and logged into some chinese ftp. But I cannot read chinese file names...><\\\

Any solution?
Should I change back to PC? My friends used WIN XP and they never have language problem at all...
