蘋果公司已經正式發出新聞稿，說明蘋果執行長 Steve Jobs 與其他若干高階主管將主持六月六日開幕的 WWDC 2011 也就是蘋果一年一度的大拜拜 -- 全球軟體開發者大會並參與開幕演說。

在新聞稿中，蘋果講明了在這次 WWDC 大會上將推出 Mac OS 的次世代版本 -- Mac OS X Lion 、最新版本的 iOS 系統 -- iOS 5 ，與 iCloud 也就是蘋果的雲端服務。這其實與目前許多人所期盼的相差不多，畢竟是 WWDC ，所以端出新版本系統與軟體服務大餐，可說是名副其實。
